Enamelling

< back to glossary
Enamel is an overglaze of powdered coloured glass that can be applied as either an oil-based paste, or as wet or dry powder. The enamel is then heated, and the colour and its transparency depend on the temperature at which the glass melts and coheres with the metal surface.

Enamel provides the possibility for every shade of colour, which can either be opaque, translucent or opalescent in appearance.
