Clasps can be considered the mark of a true mastercraftsman jeweller and when done poorly can be the clue that someone is only pretending. Trained jewellers spend large amounts of their training learning how to make effective clasps and how to integrate the design of them seamlessly into the design of the piece.

See work by Catherine Martin, Poppy Dandiya, Josef Koppmann, Kayo Saito, Daphne Krinos or Mikala Djorup to see examples of how it should be done.
