About Tygerglyn TYGERGLYN – FINE, STRIKING & ORIGINAL CONTEMPORARY JEWELLERY Founded in 2001, TygerGlyn is the brainchild of Miranda Rhys Williams, a former interior designer and banker, who has brought together beautiful and collectable contemporary jewellery from Europe, India and Africa and most recently also Brazil. Sourced from highly skilled goldsmiths and designer-makers, some of them collected by museums across the world, these rare and individual pieces are hand made using the best of ancient and modern jewellery-making techniques. The designs are bold yet timeless and always a joy to wear. There is an emphasis on integrity of materials in their purest and most natural form. Gold is particularly prized but platinum and silver are also available and some of the most collectable work is in textiles or acrylic, including the coveted work of Francesca Bristol. Extraordinary rough cut and flawed gemstones are also admired for their raw beauty and uniqueness. Covering such a wide spectrum of styles there is something to suit most tastes and budgets, from fun costume jewellery to seriously collectable fine jewellery. Men are not excluded with a good range of interesting cufflinks and a more comprehensive men’s range under development. Suggestions are always welcome. TygerGlyn is a gallery with a difference. Based in London the jewellery collections are showcased at private homes in London as well as other European cities and locations including Paris, Brussels and Andalucia. Entrance is by invitation only and clients receive invitations only if they are registered on TygerGlyn’s mailing list – put there by friends and/or colleagues known to TygerGlyn or by registering their interest themselves here on the website. Shows in the US are also planned for 2005/2006 and TygerGlyn hopes to have shows in the Far East and South Africa before too long. Each year TygerGlyn always puts on a major London show in late autumn that comprises work from about twenty different jewellers with prices to suit all pockets – from £40 to several thousand pounds. It offers a rare chance for clients to experiment with trying on and comparing a multitude of different styles in an informal and friendly yet glamorous setting. From February 2005 there will be regular (almost monthly) more intimate 'salon' evenings, usually in London, which will showcase the work of just one jeweller at a time. These informal evenings will offer interested clients and collectors the rare opportunity to meet new or favourite jewellers and gain an exclusive preview of their latest work. There will also be the opportunity to hear a short presentation from the jeweller about their work. Between 'salons', the selected works will be available to TygerGlyn clients by appointment only. Apart from the private shows and salons, a permanent showspace is available here at the TygerGlyn website to excite and interest anyone with a passion for jewellery, particularly those who value originality in what they wear. At the moment it is only a viewing gallery. Due to its one-off nature, TygerGlyn jewellery is unfortunately not available by catalogue and cannot be bought directly from the website. However, please feel free to enquire if a particular piece you like is available. Various terms and conditions may apply but once met and payment received by TygerGlyn, the jewellery can be mailed to you.
